    My bad, I made a small miscalculation in Belorussia. Probably forgot to count in some units like the tanks you have in Urals (and a new tank in Southern Ukraine as it didn’t survive my air raid in the local game I was running before I did my turn). I came out on 16% victory for the attacker in the local game. Now, I suddenly come out at 82%. I hope this won’t cause me to lose the game. On the other hand, you could also be diced hard. I immediately run a new local game to try what casualties I would take, but the Russians rolled awfully and had to retreat their two fighters, with the Germans having three tanks remaining!


  • @victoryfirst Huh. That was a really interesting German turn just now.

    The Ukraine tank was likely to survive on a defender win (with aerial retreat) at 14%, which is what happened…

    But f you had destroyed the tank in Ukraine, and excluding the Urals tanks, you were at 25% attacker win (with aerial retreat and assuming at least one infantry loss). So you went in accepting a most likely outcome of 25%.

    But the reality was that Urals tanks pushed that to 62% attacker win with aerial retreat (which I’m wondering if you would have accepted).

    Because the Ukraine tank survived though, its now 77% attacker win with aerial retreat.

    Interestingly, assuming the Urals tanks could not be committed or didn’t exist, and the Ukraine tank had survived as it did, and if all three Russian defenders has scored hits in Belorussia (4%) - the percentage of Russian attacker win would be exactly the same percentage as it is now. Anyway…

    I’m generally all for getting the best game out of myself/my opponent and trying to reach an agreement if an ‘error’ was made but I don’t see how to easily “fix” this one. As you state, its certainly no guarantee for the Russian counterattack and would be very costly. I think we’ll have to play this out as is. I may not even want to take that counterattack option. I haven’t thought about it yet.


  • @VictoryFirst after carefully considering all option - I feel I must attack. I acknowledge that a good dicing here could spell the end for one side or the other. Or we could maul each other and the game will go on. Either way, I will say these games get better and better =) come what may, its been a blast.

  • @the_good_captain Oh no, this is dreadful! You can reinforce the six Russian tanks with the Brits, which means I will not be able to counter-attack. And those six tanks are very important, as I was planning to maybe take Caucasus with Japan, and reinforce it with German and Italian aircraft. Still, you’ll have a 68% chance of taking it back.

    Oh, just noticed I have a trump card…, if I take Ukraine with two Italian infantry and the fighter, I can non combat move the fighter to Caucasus (which I was planning to do anyway), plus the two tanks in Romania! This will push it down to 49%! And I can reinforce them with my Japanese fighters later of course…


  • @the_good_captain I think this is very interesting to play on! Maybe after this game, we can continue from that German save. Knowing the odds, I would not do that air raid against Ukraine, but adding an inf and art to Belorussia, and maybe having an additional aircraft attacking attack Karelia, which will free up some troops.

    Lol, not gonna argue with that! I have to think so hard during these turns! Carefully tried out all options how to beat this guy :) I changed my Japanese meta a bit during midgame. I mostly spend my remaining money on Bombers, but this time I built an IC in East Indies. Let’s see if it will work out!

I was planning to move into Causasus, which I forgot… I also planned to move two fighters to sz 38, but I forgot that as well and attacked Kazakh and Novosibirsk. I got more than two hits in each of those battles so it doesn’t really matter if each battle has a fighter less?
