Yes, it does not matter which territory the troops on the transport are invading. The amphibious assault is in the sea zone adjacent to a territory with an airbase, which is all that is required.

Yes, with 24 IPCs you can…

Add one infantry in UK, one in Scotland (makes Sealion hazardous and unlikely). More freedom to scramble on G1.

One infantry in Yunnan (dicey battle for Japan), one in Hunan (somewhat dicey battle) and 3 artilleries in the Russian far East territories (increases the punch of the 18 infantries there).

With bids higher than 24, Egypt can be reinforced further. Then there is the typical sub in 98 that people really like. Well placed land units are very hard to beat.

Hey Leo, if the subs sitting in 91 don’t want to attack so that they can move during the non-combat phase, you only need to declare that the subs will not be participating in combat even though there is a battle in the zone they occupy.

This is incorrect.Â All units in the space where a battle occurs participate in that battle, whether or not they have legitimate targets.Â As a result, they may not move in noncombat movement.

Any units that sea zone that you want to move elsewhere must move during combat movement.Â This is legal even if they are not moving into combat if they are moving to escape combat (even if it’s just potential combat due to a possible scramble).

Yep, so can the UK, Anz, or Russia. They have to liberate them from the axis though. If the axis don’t take them from the French, then the allies can’t liberate them to collect while Paris is in axis hands.

BTW with alpha rules when Paris is liberated, the French also get to immediately drop 12 IPCs worth of units (it’s 4 inf w/OOB) on the tt of France (Paris). They only get to do this once, the first time Paris is liberated. So if the US liberates Paris, the French get to place these units immediately during the US turn right after the US wins the battle. If the UK is also ready to reinforce Paris with more units/air on their turn the allies may be able to hold it, depending on how prepared the Euro axis are.

I believe that per the wording of the rules, aircraft can scramble in response to ANY combat move that ends in the adjacent seazone. So they can scramble against subs. But they cannot hit them. So there’s no reason to scramble.

Also, if japan has subs, they wouldn’t help Japanese aircraft hit american subs. Only a friendly (in this example a Japanese, German, or Italian) destroyer would allow the defending scrambled planes hit attacking subs (as friendly destroyers assist in combat - this is obviously not the case on attack).

I meant that you can’t have a naval base that’s not “lone”(similar for others) since you can’t have more than one naval base in a territory

Dude, “lone” means that’s the only thing in the territory!

I was using the definition that lone naval base means it’s the only naval base in the territory. Thus, every naval base is lone
