Yes I have previously played risk. I thought it was too much of a game of luck so I tried this one.
A&A is also a mixture of skill and luck, although you can use a Low Luck system that greatly diminishes the random factor built into it.
This is the new set-up
It looks like Russia start with a battleship, and Japan start the game controlling Australia
That setup was created by chimps. Only a chimp would stick an American in Poland or not bother to think in the utility is actually spending 10 minutes to set the game properly for a photo that will last 10 more years. This is how chimps work and think when they fall out of their tree.
Setup AA42= Setup Revised
Only difference:
Sea zone 10 Usa Cruiser instead CT
Sea Zone 30 Jap Cruiser instead CT
Sea Zone 35 UK Cruiser instead CT
Sea Zone 13 UK Cruiser instead Battleship
what is CT ?
CT means DD.
Thi means that (considering new cost of units equals to the Anniversary cost): UK has 1 less BB(20 IPC) and 1 less DD (8 IPC) while has 2 CA(24 IPC), receiving then 4 less IPC in ships. USA has a CA(12) instead of a DD(8) gaining four IPC and Japana has a CA (12) instead of a DD, gainig also 4 IPC.
So IPC-wise the Allies have 4 less IPC in the setup, maybe a way to balance the game without requiring bid?
This cannot be the setup. Even a chimp would not start the game with China, Australia and India in jap’s hands
It can be a joke or a photoshop work, of course :-D
And no chimp would put a U.K. battleship of the coast of South Africa.
This immage of board is not the setup
the setup is
Setup AA42= Setup Revised
Only difference:
Sea zone 10 Usa Cruiser instead DD
Sea Zone 30 Jap Cruiser instead DD
Sea Zone 35 UK Cruiser instead DD
Sea Zone 13 UK Cruiser instead Battleship
C’mon guys. Is there ANY A&A game that has the board set up on the back? I’m sure they all have some mythical mid-game scenario set up. In which the Japanese have China, Australia and Hawaii, leaving the Russians secure enough to buy a battleship and the british hurrying to save South Africa.

Exactly! That is not the set up. USA didn’t have infantry in Poland.

Shhh, don’t tell anyone but that’s Otto Skorzeny.
He must be plotting his Odessa organization to help his fellow comrades after the war.

One bomber: 12 IPCs
