Karl7 (X) vs. Argothair (L), World at War 1939 Game 11

Understood. Hard fought. If Germany hadn’t squeeked though the front lines, this would have been a different game.
Seems so far Axis are triumphant at every turn in our games! LOL

Although I think you trounced me a few times as Axis

@Karl7 OK, I concede. Good game! I got diced in Hamburg and France/America can’t do it alone. It was only like a 60% chance to win that battle, but you should have had only 1 or 2 units left for the Americans to mop up, and instead the whole air force lived and you can likely rebuild and hold the front lines where they are.
Meanwhile, I just don’t have an answer for the 1-2-3 punch with Yama/Hisacihi/Thai. I can’t actually hold any ground because whatever I put in the way gets mowed over and then you take the next factory a couple of turns later. Doesn’t matter if you lose 100 IPCs of units along the way because you will rebuild it and move it to the new front lines within a couple of turns. The battle for Cairo doesn’t look any different than the battle for West Iran or East Iran or Calcutta or Burma; it’s just the same battering ram over and over, and we don’t need to see it play out five more times. To effectively defend I would have to stop producing units for the UK offense, and then I’m even more dead in the water than I am anyway, which is already pretty dead.
Good game!
Yeah the Japanese land game was intense
There was about 5 turns where they built up and then we sent the Thais in to their death and that opened the gate
