That’s one of the problems with games is everybody banks there planes. My own game at least has it where u can lose planes in naval and ground when u don’t want to. If there’s a bonus plane kill u have to take one as a casualty

The most incredible ideas…made my hair stand up in the back of my neck…
Yeah, same here. One rule that freaked me out was a the Russian National Trait artillery bombardment on a 1 for every 2 units. Of course, they didn’t have artillery pieces back then. On several occasions when playing A&A with friends and family who have never played before, they ask if artillery can perform an opening bombardment. I say, “No”, to which they respond, “oh, :-( well that’s dumb. It totally should. :x” I had been considering a House Rule that would allow artillery to bombard on a 1 during the opening fire stage of combat. :-o Twilight Zone…or do great minds think alike?
btw, I can’t give out karma yet, so here’s an IOU. +1

Well the Soviets did prepare the battle with some of that wars greatest concentration of Artillery in key battles and campaigns. Id tent to think if each nation was to get just one national characteristic that the Soviets could have these artillery where a one rolled on the first round chooses the ground target hit, but that would be just the first round.
US get marines
Japan gets long lance ( fighters attack at 4 on first round against ships)
Germans get Waffen SS
UK gets the free guy from India each turn representing colonial troops
Id give Italy either a free placement in Africa of one infantry that would normally go in Italy, plus perhaps one infantry with tank moves 2 spaces in Africa only?
-
I agree with giving Italy two infantry in Italian East Africa, if you were to adapt the idea to AA50. 5 IPC transport planes carrying 1 infantry is interesting. Wasn’t that considered for AA Advanced?…or was it Deluxe.

i am downloading these right now
thanks IL!

It seems like you missed a couple pages (pages 22-23) between the second and third download. The article was talking about the differences between the Nova and MB versions of the game when it just stops and goes onto another variant.
-
Did you upload the Variant Cards??
-
Yes, it does look like it skips pages 22 and 23??
-
The variant cards are uploaded. The pages you refer too are just some simple type saying “Allies” or “Axis” like 40 times. I don’t see the need to scan them right?
-
The last paragraph on page 21 reads. “For weapons development, the current Heavy Bombers was the Atomic Bomb (eliminates everything in a land or sea area), but the real missing gem from the Nova edition was the Special Forces rule. In it, each major power got its own”- What? Got its own what?! It just stops. There’s no period, so I assume it continues. If it’s only a small paragraph, could you write it out and post it so you don’t have to go through all the hassle of scanning the picture? I’m sorry for bothering you, and I thank you again for posting this for everyone to enjoy.

ok. ill dig up the magazine and see whats going on and repost.
-
On p33 the last paragraph is headed: KAMAKAZI FIGHTERS.
Then at the top of p34 the beginning paragraph starts talking about moving your opponents units???
Is that what the Kamakazi Fighters Roll supposed to do or is this a misprint??
In the KAMAKAZI FIGHTERS paragraph p33 it talks about destroying units and there is a chart below detailing the possible exchanges, but then the beginning paragraph discussing movement on p34 seems strangely out of place? :?
Anyone have an answer??
Thanks!
