  • Had to leave my Italian friends in the lurch- things get ugly when the tower crumbles.

    @Stough
    We’ll see if that tower crumbles. Dont have a plan yet - last turn was my all in gamble - no follow up plan - and i think i’m going to wish the us had the money, not the uk

  • '23 '20

    Truly - i just had a total grant moment - throw everything in reach at the front. Maybe that is more a chuikov of stalingrad moment

  • '23 '20

    Threw that amphib assault support without a test run - and obviously forgot about the scramble!

  • I think Grant is the correct analogy. Hit what you can because you can afford the losses. You have both time and numbers on your side.

    It was a great move and totally unexpected (despite previous experience with exactly the same move). The timing was perfect, as I was almost big enough to strike back.

    Probably preventable on my part. A little bummed I wasn’t sold on withdrawing to Germany on Italy’s turn, for this round, would have saved some units, but oh well.

    @stough said in Mainah V Stough 5.0:

    I disagree with you here. I did it because time is not on my side. Germany could continue to amass an inf wall, and japan will take something (actually, will take whatever it feels like taking once you make up your mind and stick with it :) ) soon.

    It was a great move and totally unexpected (despite previous experience with exactly the same move). The timing was perfect, as I was almost big enough to strike back.

    Yeah - that was the motivation.

    Probably preventable on my part. A little bummed I wasn’t sold on withdrawing to Germany on Italy’s turn, for this round, would have saved some units, but oh well.

    Unsure if you could have. Maybe. But to prevent the sacking of Berlin, you would have lost W Ger for sure - not even to dead zone status, US would have held it. Would have shortened the defensive line alot - instead of covering both Normandy and Southern France and trading holland, all those forces, plus some from Italy, would mass at W Ger.

    And you would have lost some money, and a IC (and that would HURT). Not a major to a minor - lost as in the US is building units in your front yard.

    By the way - seems to be somekind of communication error between TripleA and A&A.org. I had to save the game as a file to my computer, and then upload the file to the forum, sans summary.

  • Is that the download?

  • Did you mean to leave your AAA in NWPersia?

  • '23 '20

    Should be. I tried it, worked for me. But with ni battles, not sure how it’ll work for sure.
    Still pay in forum mode when your ready. But instead of posting as normal, save as a file to you computer, and then in this thread, up load that file

    No. Was only suppossed ro leave 1 inf

  • @mainah I’ll edit it.

  • I’ve got to say, this end game has been way more interesting than I thought it would be.

    Also, good to know that I was damned if I did, damned if I didn’t on Western Germany. I still feel the fool for using that money, but I feel a little less foolish now.

    I was wondering whether you would turn right or left with the Russian Horde. Towards India is far more interesting. Glad for the surprise.

  • Hopefully that will work- Let me know if it does not.

    Lost 1MI in the Finland battle/ 0 in the Vyborg battle.
    took the Carolines
    Bailed on India… for now. ;)

  • Enjoy Western Germany, I packed some canola for the prisoners as a “I’m Sorry gift”.

    Help them to understand. They’re good boys.
