@Stucifer scrambles for you
L21 #1 trulpen (X) vs Arthur Bomber Harris (A+20) BM3

the only thing that I can really do is to restart after the first round of dice rolling. You would have 3 subs, 1 cruiser, a tipped carrier, a tipped battleship, and 2 fighters. I would have 2 cruisers, 2 fighters, a bomber, and 1 destroyer left. I would still need to roll for that 1 destroyer. Odds of my victory are are 10%.
Let me know if I should continue to roll on the forum.

The best is to restart the battle and go in the client, but it’s a bit tricky here.
It looks as if you missed to count the 1 hit from the subs in the first battle-round. There were 2 rolls, with 1 hit in the first and 0 in the second.
There were 1 hit from the figs and 3 hits from the ac, cr, bs, right? If so I presume UK has only 1 cr left for the second battle-round.
It would be good to have intermediate postings of the battle so all aspects would be transparent.
UK should roll 1d6 for the des.
The rolled dice in the second battle-round are actually possible to adjust for as well.
The subs got 1/6 hits, so with only 3 subs left there’s a 50 % chance for the hit. Can be rolled with 1d2, where 1 is a hit and 2 a miss.
The fig and bs both hit, but the surviving ac, cr and 1 fig would then also roll for defense.
UK rolled 5, 5, 1, 2 for 3 figs, 1 sb, which I believe was 1/3 hits for the figs and 1/1 for the sb. Only thing needing to adjust are the figs then. Taking away one of the figs means there’s 2/3 chance of taking away a miss and 1/3 to take away the hit, so on a 1d3 there’s a hit on 1 and a miss on 2-3.
Then the des and cr should make a roll.
After all this there shouldn’t be too much left, so it’s likely advisable to continue to roll here in the forum, even though it would be possible to restart the battle with all casualties and continue in the client, which is usually prefered.

I’ll try and check.

I think I miscalculated. There were 5 hits on the defense in the first battle-round, 1 from sub, 1 from air and 3 from surface-ships, right? Then there were no cr left for battle-round 2, so UK has 1 unit less. I suppose it’s a fig then, since the des is needed to take out the last sub.
If this is correct then for battle-round 3 the remaining forces should be:
UK: 1 des, 1 fig, 1 sb
G: 1 sub, 1 fig, 1 cr, 1 bs -
This would preferably be continued in the client.
-
Also have to analyse how the situation would’ve been when choosing casualties.
-
UK had 2 hits and G had 2 sub, 1 cr, 1 bs, 2 fig left.
Think the rational choice would be to take out both subs.
G then got only 2 hits and UK had 1 des, 3 fig, 1 sb left, so would take out 1 des, 1 fig.
Remaining forces for battle-round 3
UK: 2 fig, 1 sb
G: 2 fig, 1 cr, 1 bs -
failed. I will post.

It was an heroic effort. If the germans hadn’t hit so well in defense against US, I’m sure it would’ve worked. Maybe they should’ve gone all-in kamikaze?

It definitely would have worked if America had rolled average. I should have kept going a round by was so upset by that die roll. It has been a few years since I last played Allies… Thanks for the match.
