My mistake, U.S. bomber wasn’t a build, it should be a NCM from E.C. > Hawaii.

Okay, the bomber was originally in Central U.S. I looked at my recent games and some of my opponents recent games to decide on U.K. opening moves. None had Germ with undamaged BB, CA and subs in North Sea. So most moved fighters to Med. The standard opening for U.K. has been some infantry and a fighter build in London. Some go for massing around Gibr and some in Egypt. I decided to keep all existing fighters and troops in U.K., but not build there. With fleet and Med planes going to Gibr, had to build I.C. in Egypt. Germ attack on London or Med had some risk. But Germ would lose too many planes for most players to risk it.

@FMErwinRommel Well it is bold I grant you that…if one of my subs in the channel had hit, gib would look tempting…although i guess the dd in 106 could block as well.
I was about to post my turn and finally realised something that was niggling me…you have landed the indian air in persia. If you look in the notes although the engine allows it it is a player enforced rule that air cannot land on a friendly neutral in the turn that it was activated. If you want them in range of cairo next turn they have to go to T-J (risky!) or tanganyika… I wont take my turn until you decide :+1:

Italy is an interesting situation. Initially it can be a real threat to UK in Gibr (but needs Germ air for defense) and Egypt. U.K. can build in Mideast to retake Egypt. Italy has a top heavy navy with few support ships, and few planes and little starting cash. Most players don’t bother building up the navy. Leaving its home waters and air defense, its very vulnerable to U.K.'s large air force and navy. BalMod discourages a round one Taranto play, because the Brit fleet will in turn be sunk. But eventually, Italy’s fleet is vulnerable. It needs to build some mobile ground units to help conquer Russia. It’s income can jump quickly to 30 with 5 point N.O.'s, but it can’t match combined U.S. and U.K. An AB in Greece is costly and expense to defend.

@FMErwinRommel Italy is normally just a pain the neck…it has to be supported by G but doesnt really add any value once the can openers have been killed…taking cairo is very hard against an experienced player unless taranto goes wrong. In our current situation you can build 3 units and bring in 6 land units and up to 4 air to defend it. But you have to do this or similar or it will fall.so italy will tie the UK up in africa for a few turns at least.
Didnt offer a scramble as had overwhelming odds in the channel…
