I did say the sub will take the first hit so I should get another roll with a fighter. Although I didn’t really think you would fight that so successfully. I think where I went wrong is that I calculated on taking Greece, then saw that Italy could just retake that and didn’t recalculate. Ouch.

I think I was also thinking that you would continue the battle as Italy. Whatever way I cut it, I don’t have enough to hold Moscow.
You must have been pretty pleased when I dented 2 CVs in the first round.

@simon33 Yeah, but it was a tricky situation. Had you instead started sinking other ships such as destroyers I might have had to continue with Italy. You would have had less power in consecutive rounds, but Italy would have been severely decimated too.
