Edit was to NCM marine from FIC > Phil and mech FIC > Kwang. Took a long time to coordinate 9 attacks last night. Then decided my builds and recreated the attacks online now. Had plenty of air support and decisions on where to land. Considered putting fleet into Java to land marines.
But didn’t want my fleet so far removed from home waters. Java dice were good. There was a possibility I’d have to sacrifice a bomber. U.S. would need air support to take Java back this turn. That would require moving CVs there. Highly unlikely since you couldn’t keep it. Japan income didn’t go up much. Reaching limit of income from Russian territory without reinforcements. Sank 3 subs, but you keep building more (sigh). So Japan built 3 DDs. -

@FMErwinRommel I think I would like the japanese to stop rolling quite so well please! If you look at the dice stats japan has by far the best rolling…you have rolled 1 65 times and 2 66 times…roughly just under a quarter of all dice from all combatants including neutrals!

Have to admit that Japan rolled well this past turn and in some key battles before. But Russia & UKPac cumulative average rolls were just as low and also Italy. U.S. is the worst and Germany not much better. While lower average dice in general is better than higher average dice, the order sequence of the numbers makes all the difference. A 1 and 4 vs 4 and 1; or 2 and 5 vs 5 and 2 e.g. Another factor, which doesn’t apply to Japan in this game, are the numbers generated by a large army attacking a single defender. This would affect the average for the one power, but have no effect on the game.

Italy’s turn took longer than would have expected. Had to review the allied action worldwide first Then had to assess Italy’s position from the Allied fleet going to the Channel and what Germ could do and needed to do defensively, to see how Italy could help. Italy tried but failed to retake HolBel for Germ, but at least cleared the way. The Allies in EngCha gains U.S. ten points a turn without losing tt’s. Good deal at least first round when you can use just 1 troop per territory. You’re doing it very economically. Very costly for Ger to sink a fleet there because of scramble and NB repair to CVs. All comes down to poor Ital start allowing Allies to control the Med and Italy not helping break open Russia. Ger is stalled and UK has plenty cash to build ground troops in Mideast.

Germany can get stalled but still make substantially more than Russia. So the Euro Axis have to be able to contest the Med in order to limit Allied resources going to Mideast or Europe.

The dice stats at the end of the post don’t tell the story. I’m cursed in Rostov. I attacked with 9 planes and 3 troops with power of 34, but only rolled 2-12. Should have wiped you out on first round. You rolled 2-5. I gambled on round 2. Your 3 inf should have given 1 hit. I rolled 8-10 and you rolled 2-3. I had to take a plane and my last ground unit, so didn’t take Rostov. I should have been able to attack both Ros and Tam with that many planes. This is a good example of my prior comment on dice. Stats for the 2 rounds together look normal, but battle results weren’t. Had to calc many possible amphib scenarios with the fleet in EngCha. And the large Rus army and expanded air force are pressing me hard on the Eastern front. I was hoping that Germany’s income advantage over Rus would allow me to go on the offensive. But I’m stalled.
