    Attacking at poor odds in a sea battle with CVs isn’t worth the risk. Normally, the attacker isn’t next to friendly land, but the defender is. So the defender can land planes, but not the attacker. So, even with favorable odds, even slightly bad dice means having to take hits on CVs and eventually losing planes. I forgot to land a Japanese bomber in Phil this past turn. That was the only DEI isle that you could reach that wasn’t defended by my fleets and where I can’t reach with CV planes.

    @FMErwinRommel Oh I knew the risks, but with even average rolls you would prob only have 2 damged bbs and a working carrier with 2 planes to defend against the anzac subs and planes…much better odds for allies. I wasnt too bothered about killing planes but did want your fleet crippled…oh well!

    Separately, U.S. and UK forces in the Med are not that strong offensively or defensively. But combined defensively and back-to-back offensively, I had to reinforce Italian garrison more than I expected. Italy’s income is tiny, but Germany would rather take the Russian territory for itself and spend some to support Italy. This will require more German support, and less available for the Eastern front.

    Sink the tilted CV and tilt the other 2 CVs. I really messed up by not saving a DD instead of the CA. 15 points of air defense wasted and first strike hits can’t fire back.

    Glad that I sank the rest of your subs before losing more capital ships. Even tho the TUV wasn’t great, I lost 2 CVs, my planes had to land in Java and my ships will have to repair.
