• I am having a difficult time wrapping my brain around this…bombers get hit with red rolls. it doesn’t matter how many fighter escorts i bring…a red is a dead bomber, so what is the point of bringing fighter escorts?

There isn’t. Bombers are far-and-away the most overpowered unit in the game. That being said:

    • You need to buy at least some land units to take territory. Tanks are the best for this because of their high durability and decent-enough ability to hit air units, but Artillery are also good because they can switch to anti-air stance to give you a lot of chances at hitting air units.

    • If your opponent brings at least one fighter to a battle and you bring none, your “Black” (wild card) and “White” (hit any wounded unit) dice rolls (both have 1/12 odds of showing up on any given die roll) are negated, which adds up quicker than you’d expect. This means you’d be effectively wasting your one roll of anti-air fire your Bombers get, which is sub-optimal.

  • Official Q&A

Bringing fighters gives you more chances to inflict hits on defending units, though your fighters are also vulnerable to being hit.

  • @DoManMacgee said in cover for bombers:

If your opponent brings at least one fighter to a battle and you bring none, your “Black” (wild card) and “White” (hit any wounded unit) dice rolls (both have 1/12 odds of showing up on any given die roll) are negated, which adds up quicker than you’d expect.

Force Advantage applies only in the Surface Battle Stage, and also only to Land and Naval Units. The presence of absence of Fighters has no impact on it.
