I also didn’t do a great job of counting up your forces; if I had been paying more attention to the math, then maybe I would have tried to move more Russians south to reinforce India or whatever. But it’s all part of my new, who-gives-a-shit casual style of play. It’s just for fun, at this point. If it works, great, if not, that’s fine too. I took some tough dice in the Baltic States on R1, and central Med on UK1, and off the Indian Coast on UK2 / US2 / R2, and I don’t think I ever recovered. I got amazing dice to hold India on J2, but I don’t think that matters if the Allies can’t win naval battles. You have to win naval battles to sink Japan!
And then I’m also unsure if it makes any sense to bring the Russian stack from Siberia into Manchuria. It forces Japan to pay attention to it, I guess, so there are some troops temporarily tied up there, but between the fighters and the naval bombardments, the Russians die pretty cheap. You’re not buying a lot of dead Japanese for your sacrifice, you know? And it’s not like Manchuria is so far away from the action that the Japanese assets are away from the fight for long. I think if I did something like this opening again I would just put the fighter in the east, and put both Russian artillery bids on the German front.

Agreed, these games are more for fun, and I think I’ve broken out the battle calc like three times only.
Anniversary favors allies in Europe so heavily, i.e. in terms of NOs, that I don’t think KJF is meaningful. At best I think you try to keep Japan busy so it doesn’t go hog wild while you just smash Germany. But, I don’t know. Maybe there is a KJF in AA50 and I just haven’t found it.
