I moved the fleet to Iwo Jima thinking that it was safe there without blockers. Completely miscounted the amount of air you could bring in. When I realized it, I thought it was probably game ending. I’m a bit too tired to judge properly, but I’m hoping its not quite as bad a move as I had thought.

Phew! I knew there was some risk for you to go all in on the US fleet but was still quite afraid that you would, and that that might end up being decisive.
Those big naval battles are quite deceptive, they can say 80 or 90% odds but often still end up disastrous or pyrrhic. Not worth it unless I’m desperate.
@axis-dominion The odds I had for you were 95% but that assumed you would build 5 carriers to land air. My thinking was that it might not be worth the risk to you because you are weak on land and because the trade could take out most of Japan’s air. But if you went for it, the dice could have also gone in your favour.
I may have overreacted with the Soviet DOW but I wanted to put as many targets on land as I could.
