@simon33 I think the small sample size (players only doing 10 games/year) is more of a problem than the bid. In fact the sample size problem is perhaps the biggest issue that limits the effectiveness of any ranking system we could pick.

(Alternative take: is it really a small sample if you do 5-10+ rounds per game? That reduces the roll of luck by a ton, though it doesn’t affect the probability that your opponent might be ranked improperly and/or any variance that comes from playing the same person).

@Amon-Sul He had never lost a game in league play as Axis. But in fairness, this was a team effort between me and Marti. I consistently had great dice through 36 rounds. And even then it was a very near thing.

Guess I should be. @axis-dominion has seriously helped me advance a lot with our three games. The two first were sound beatings. I’m very happy to have been able to pull off a win against Goliath. A pretty unfair bid of 9 for Axis (sic), but still wasn’t easy.
