L20 #3 trulpen (X) vs Amon-Sul (A+7) BM3

I’d say this is the back-side of helping out the chinese. Somehow it didn’t work out in our first game. Have to look at why. Will stick it into my report. ;)

each decision, and stregthening on one side of the board, weakens the other one. it is logical.

what i learn from this game in which u play a much better italy and better japan (also much tanks to that i ve lost my element of surprise) is that allies are overpowered.

the axis are so strong with all that japanese air, german tanks, italian central position, and they need only 6 VC in the Pacific, 4 they have and Hawaii and India are not so far away. As for Europe, even without Sea Lion, after cracking Russia its just Cairo left, and not far away from Volgograd too.

I now realise why the top players bid 10+ for the allies, i think it will just grow to 15-20, around 20 , maybe even 20+ for the allies.

So , that idea of Urs of playing axis without a bid against me, was totally unaceptable. how much i prefer and like to play the allies, i must say that in future, if i wont be able to get a proper bid, i will gladly take axis with some small allied bid for my opponent

  • sorry i wanted to say that the axis are too strong (overpowered)

That valuable battle power is withdrawn from Moscow.

If Russia had built only inf and maybe some art, then Germany could not stomp into Bryansk in G5 without any italian can-opening.

Now Germany is knocking on the doors of Moscow and I believe the defense of that stronghold now is very compromised.

    but could in G6 or G7 ?

  • And of course, very significant, that 2 mech, 2 tank, 2 fig and 1 tac would be part of the defense. The air makes a great job at offensive defense, i e small battles.

Depends a lot on how much reinforcements is coming in from Berlin. Not impossible, but much more difficult. The thing is that without being able to land air after moving in the stack, it’s usually more susceptible to counter-attack. Of course, you know this.

In BM3 Russia is usually to strong for Germany to just have it’s way with it. In OOB it’s a little bit different, since it’s so easy to exclude Russia from it’s NOs. 7 extra IPC per round from R2-3) to R in the beginning is a big issue for the situation in G5-7.

even if i had those units russia would fall eventualy if germany is totally into it.

i ve decided to take my risks. we will see if they pay off

Went very well in Rostov. Valuable tanks annihilated. So they weren’t immune after all. :) Well, we’ll see.

i think this game is interesting and fairly matched . we shall see what will the future bring us. the quality of play is pretty high and i am enjoying it :)

  • Btw, I don’t think that the Soviet-Mongolian Defense Pact is maculated. You entered Korea, but didn’t attack it.

  • *You = Russia

yep, the treaty is still in force

  • Will do a landing with marine from cr in FIC that I missed.

  • Did a miscalc in landing air. May I adjust the amount of air I sent to the over-kill of Kweichow? Didn’t calculate sz6 and now I see that there’s an extra sub and 3 sb. I also notice the russian sb in WUS (!). Didn’t you do something like that last game as well?

The dice are rolled, but I think it’s possible to handle.

I take away 3 air, 2 fig and 1 tac, since they’re needed by Tokyo. I haven’t looked at the dice, but I can do a second roll to find out which dice from the rolled ones to use.

Lets say there were 2 out of 4 hits for the figs and the same for the tacs, then taking away 2 figs and 1 tac would mean a roll of 1D2 for figs with a hit on 1 and miss on 2 and 1D3 for tacs with a hit on 1-2 and miss on 3.

Would this be ok with you?

If not I’ll just adjust placements. There’s that possibility as well, which I haven’t really looked at yet.

  • I’ll continue the round assuming you say no to battle adjustment. It’s possible to do it later if you say yes.
