I enjoy the poll. Thanks for posting.
I voted for the Colt for it’s near timelessness, and the Tokarev TT. I don’t know why. Just for something different I guess. Figured the Luger or Walther would take #2.
I had to choose the Luger :-D
Every time I think of a German officer I immediately think of a luger, i don’t know why, just habits I guess.
Colt hands down. 8-)
Age has nothing to do with it. the “ma duce” M2 .50 cal has been in the US Army since late WWI if I remember correctly. It beats the snot out of the US Army’s newer M249, M240B. Yeah they are smaller caliber but the point it newer isn’t always better.
LT
Whatever Sgt. Saunders uses that is what i would use.
I’ll go with Chesty Puller, USMC.
1911 for me, and a luger to take home and show the kids.
I voted once. 1911. That’s it. I still carry one today. I have to agree and disagree with you LT04. The M2 is a superb static or vehicle mounted weapon. I’ve carried and fired the three weapons you mentioned. I would not want to lug a .50 cal around on patrol. In fact I don’t think I want to ever fire that thing from the hip. I would say in that case newer would be better.
11HP20,
I think that we can agreet that it is an effective weapon, just not a practical one to lug around.
LT
I know. I was just being a goof.
Is this an idiot test?
I mean if the point of a pistol is to kill stuff, why would you take anything besides the 1911?
The Marine Corp still uses the weapon today
I can sort of understand the Tokarev TT since it is a rip-off of the 1911, but the second choice should really have been the Browning Hi-Power
it is simple math, why choose a P38 or Luger, get eight 9mms, when you can get the Browning Hi-Power and have thirteen 9mms?
