Yeah, I kind of agree with you Variance. Europe is where most of the action is. Plus, if you just play Europe, it takes up a lot less space on the table.
Yet, every time I think, let’s just play Europe, I already start to miss the Japanese. I just can’t seem to get into a game without the Japanese making trouble on the other side of the board.

@minus: While I agree that “all costs” must always be used carefully and is hardly ever right I think you should also consider the following things:

1. Cairo underlines one NO of Italy even if Gibraltar might fall into the hands of US/UK for 5 IPC each turn
2. You must consider that saving units cannot win the game once the income somehow gets imbalance and time will clearly play into the axis’s hands

So it clearly depends on if even w/o Cairo the allies have realistic chances to win even in the longer term. If time will only play for axis in case Cairo falls, I can imagine there are situation where you should either stand or resign.

Don’t abandon Egypt. Build a factory T2 there. you can hold this pretty easy if played right. Of course this all depends on whether or not Germany builds a lot of transports on T2. Also if Germany doesn’t build a carrier and 2 transports attack SZ97. If he does it might be best to retreat the med

Hi, so today I was playing the OOB version of Axis and allies europe 1940 and obviusly ( indeed, a lot of people already said this ) is very un-balanced, so now I decided to change to ALPHA 2, but I have a question, what is the setup, NO’s and turn order for europe theatre only?

The best thing to do right now is use the Alpha NOs, using NOs 1 and 5 for the US.

AAE40 is a wonderful game like AAP40 ( edited out thanks to only 4 fighters)

On UK 1 they build the 9 inf, not naval.

The ships from Gibraltar move to block, but these are lost if Germany tries anyway.

The advantage is your getting some German air exchanged.

The latter problem is if they don’t attack, you still have a buy a fleet and make it save because Germany will still have subs and UK needs to kill them to get its NO’s

If the fleet attacks Italy, they take out the Italian navy in addition to german air
