I remember when A&A Minis come in 2005, some players had the main movements on the Revised 2004 ed map, but resolved the battles with the Minis. You are basically suggesting the same, but switch the Minis with a First Shooter Game online. Could be fun.

I like keeping a campaign journal for my Axis and Allies games. I think that it helps me remember good games and also mistakes not to make again. I make it as detailed or not as I like.
I think that a junky little Walmart journal is all it took to get me started. Does anyone besides me do this? -
I have done it in the past. Especially when testing new rules. It takes a little more time but the old saying writing it down makes it easier to remember is true. For me anyway :)
Triplea has the history to look through, but I find after it’s written down I can scan through it faster even though it’s not nearly as detailed. I still use the history function a fair amount.
Usually I just recap what each player did after their turn and at start of new round list Income, Units and TUV. Oh and Victory cities.

Yes I agree, I especially use it when I am testing new rules. They help me remember what I need to revise.
