So here’s my ultimate noob question: in the very first move for each player, does each Country already have IPC funds to Purchase Units with?

Per page 9 of the Rulebook, hostile sea zones are those which contain enemy surface warships. The condition of adjacent territories has no bearing on it.

The units in 1941, 1942, and 1940 are all roughly the same size between editions:

US Sherman tank in 1942 and 1940 are the exact same size. US IS-1 tank in 1941 is a little bigger than the US Sherman from 1942 or 1940. All of the US Infantry between 1941, 1942, and 1940 are the same size.

Thanks for the responses guys. NIce to know the pieces are interchangable between games. I have played another game since and we all seemed to make lots of mistakes. An experienced player would smash a new person at this game.

smanifesto I will probably do exactly as you have done and get a pieces from other games. It was getting frustrating having to constantly look for new units and swap chips around. I’m also with you on customizing the game a bit. We already have a house rule that battleships have to return to a factory to be repaired at the start of your next turn when damaged.

you are correct sir. If the British can manage to take North Africa it would serve as a better station for the American planes since they both could attack southern and Western europe if need be.

Yeah, I ended up doing 3 copies myself. It worked out well for my customized AA50 set. Should work numbers-wise for a G40 set as well.
