    maybe not optimal, but I felt in my situation it did have some benefits, particularly on the euro side. also, I’m just trying to make sure j4 is still on the table among master play, as I’d hate to think there are only a narrow few ways/openings that are viable in top play :)

    not my first time doing it, as I’ve even done it against Adam. we’ll see how it plays out in the longterm I guess.

    I have to agree with your decision here, I think it’d be too dicey too early for such an important game, and you’re doing quite well so there’s no reason to gamble. as you probably know, just a few days ago I had a similar result against oysteilo but even higher and better odds (99% at 40 average score), but ended up winning with a dismal score of -88, and that cost me the game. such an extreme it seems to me… but it could just as well go extreme the other way! so it’s basically a game-determining gamble in my opinion, one you needn’t take given you’re doing good so far.
