I was just looking for some NO charts and these are perfect! But why are all of the years 1942 except for ANZAC which says 1940?

@Aaron_the_Warmonger I don’t know exactly the long term goal in Italian hands. The only conclusion I can come up with is to give Italy more of a northern Can Opening attack as well as give Italy more money for longer term play. Again, I find this foolish since it serves great use for Germany anyways. It’s been talked about, as said before, I’ve never seen it done and I have no plans to do it if I am ever Axis. I can see Bulgaria going Italian but not Finland.

These are NOT optimal strategies. They are meant to be funny and either ridicule “standard strategies” or make fun of losing situations. Let me explain tthem to the best of my abillity:

Germany:
Must kill Russia and not worry about anything else like Sea Lion or Africa. This comes from many players who believe that taking Moscow early is the only way to victory for Germany.

Soviet Union:
This comes from the classic Russian build up early on which is soon negated by overwhelming German force. It ridicules those who just stack Moscow instead of trying to counterattack.

Japan:
1 symbolizes the J1 attack which is used more than J2 and J3
2 symbolizes taking the money islands
3 symbolizes getting so rapped up is Asia, that you allow the U.S. to take Tokyo (lol!)

U.S.
This is actually quite true: with the U.S. you must get enough force to defend yourself or make a hole in your opponent. Then you must get into a great position like Gibraltar or Carolines. Then eventually you get that great opportunity–wham!

China:
This, of course, is about players who think China is useless. In my personal experience, I think most people just like to sacrifice Chinese units. And of course such gameplay will cause Japan to hit Stalingrad and then Russia yells at you.

United Kingdom:
Europe:
Defending is important early but only in the UK itself. If Germany at least threatens Sea lion, we see UK just defending for awhile. Then finallly they make a big blow like Rome or Denmark.

Pacific:
This ridicules players who just build infantry and simply put everything in India. You bet they get bored.

Italy:
This is more of a ridicule of Mussolini himself. Or Italy after a really pro-UK Taranto dice mow -over.

ANZAC:
Quite true. The money islands are ANZACs biggest thing they usually can do…and Japan hates that.

France:
I object to explaining this one.

It’s any territory that has either a UK symbol or Canada symbol.
One thing I have seen happen a few times is Italy dropping an infantry on Cyprus just to deny UK that NO and really ruffle their feathers.

Yeah its exactly what happen in my last game and I wonder how easy it is for Italia to drop a infantry on cyprus.

I’m just glad that others can use it. Bob’s charts were always my favorite. I’ve been thinking about redoing the setup charts as well. Would that be useful to anyone?

Yes it was the first thing I printed up to use looking for game aids.

They look really cool.

Everyone kept losing one or dropping them on the floor.
(I dont know how many times someone has picked up their box with the lid on and the bottom tray falls out and spilled the contents all over the place. I even have one friend that keeps finding a Japanese infantry months after we played at his house. :roll:)

We have set up a small separate table to keep our IPC chart away from the game board and for us the larger objectives with token markers sit out on either side of the IPC chart or can be placed next to the actual player needing to keeptrack of their stuff.

I guess this style just meets our individual needs.

I saw one around somewhere but I can’t find it now. Here’s a bump so someone who knows can maybe point you in the right direction.

I was working on adding VCs to my National Objective charts (linked in my signature), but I haven’t gotten around to it. I haven’t really worried about it because of the six Global 1940 games I’ve played none of them have come down to VCs; the Axis win is always pretty clear before we actually get to that point.
