You never control a sea zone.
Sea zones are either friendly (contain no enemy surface warship) or hostile (contain enemy surface warship(s)).
The result of a sea battle is that you have cleared it of enemy units (or not).
Factories and what do they do?

I am playing the axis and allies 1941 version and I am curious to know what do the factories do and what happens if an enemy claims it

@Avacado I hope that you are enjoying the game! Factories (or Industrial Centres) are where you mobilise (or build) new units. If an enemy captures one you immediately lose the ability to build there and they gain the opportunity to do so in the following turn.
