As Germany I have placed BMR’s there. I was trying to give the apearance that I may want to invade E Canada so the US would send troops there.
I think it is important to note that this was a KJF game.

What was doing UK’s atlantic fleet? They should have been able to toast your bomber at Greenland. Or maybe you toasted Royal navy first

The Royal Navy was still there they had moved above Norway. I had the German Navy surounding Greenland as a defensive buffer.
