You didn’t take the hint that the Sicilians don’t want foreign troops on their soil. The U.S. still has an AA left and UK has 5 AA. Sigh. It cost me 2 TB, but including the sunk transport, the TUV was positive. I had to juggle units around in Russia to defend my I.C.'s against the enlarged Russian air force. Luckily for me, I had enough units to also adequately cover Rostov. An air only attack will decimate your fighter force vs my cheaper ground troops. But I haven’t found a way to overpower the Allied fleet in the Med or Atlantic. Even with subs, it would take too many planes and new ships, and the losses would be prohibitive.

When I first saw the Allied fleet move to the Eng Cha, I was afraid. You can strike many locations and can open to Berlin.
But it frees up Italy to help defend France and Germany. Allowing Germany to build something else rather than lots of infantry.
