Time for Italy to build a DD and get rid of those pesky subs. When I was the Allies in some prior games, maintaining a convoy blockade required constant replacement of subs. Italy would build a DD most turns. If the Allies attacked the DD, Italy would scramble. If the subs didn’t attack, Italy’s fighters would support an attack on the subs, which only defend at 1. Subs were constantly being sunk. I noticed that the U.S. has many more troops in N. Africa/Gibraltar than I remembered. Even with limited UK support, its too big for Italian army to repulse. I hate to let the U.S. get that 5 point N.O. The single Russian blockers keep on killing off the Italian troops. Germany built 22 ground troops last turn, no planes or ships. So Fortress Europa is set, defensively. But I constantly need large numbers of troops for the Russian campaign. I don’t know if I can build a European offensive to keep the U.S. at bay. The Japanese naval victory diverted the U.S. attention for now.
