Search was causing the DB to crash sometimes. So instead of getting an alert in the middle of the night, I’ve set it up so that the servers should restart on their own.
Server Downtime - What is the plan?

What is the plan and time line to stop the outages? I’m getting 5-30 minute delays half the time when I make a post, and I don’t know if the post went through (most of the time they seem to make it through).
Dan - it is affecting your other websites too.

Right now, the 50x errors are worse then I’ve ever seen.

Ok a few comments….
The server will be replaced with an entirely new template near the end of the year. This system will be nearly 100% spam free. All threads will be ported as they appear right now, except of course with a new look.
The outages are when we remove the 20-25 spammers that seem to register from 2-8 am. These are removed around 11am PAC time, which may be a cause of the 50X. Once this is clear, they are removed as they appear throughout the day and eve till about 2AM ( when i log off)
A good way to see if a freeze is going to happen is when you see me “editing the ban list” which shows if you click “who’s online”
So rest assured this process will see a conclusion in a few more weeks.
