In your opinion, is the map balanced? -
In my opinion, the map favors the Allies slightly, like 60-40%. I’ve found that the Axis have it rough in the Pacific initially, where they’re required to have some good luck in the first round as Hisaichi/Yamamoto. To effectively expand to gain the advantage, they need that luck on some 70-80% attacks in the beginning. When they try and do the “slow and steady” approach, it’s easier for the Allies to cut off lanes of advance.
With bad luck in the first round, particularly for Yam, you could see strongholds emerge for the Allies like the Dutch capital, Malaya, or the DEI be pushed directly out of their reach for the game on Round 1 or 2.
It could just be me, however, and others might think the Axis have it made. There just seems to be too many needed targets for Yamamoto to take in the first few rounds, and if they don’t, bad things happen on par with Germany failing to sack Paris.

I would play a match with you. Maybe we could bid, as I agree Allies have slight advantage. Or do you prefer vanilla?I know Cpt believes Allies are doomed for this team game but do the other Allies agree? It probably hinges on how fast US can vanquish Pacific Axis and how fast I can get London and more.

Maybe a +12 bid for the Axis? I’ll start with that. I’m not sure yet if the game truly favors the Allies, or I just haven’t found the right Pacific strategy yet.

@Colt45554 I feel this game is pretty well balanced, but the axis do have to hit hard and fast in the early game to do well. The axis have done well in this game without a bid so I don’t feel one is necessary to win. We’ll keep going in this game until I determine if the US can make a difference in the Pacific…in the meantime you can punish Russia and UK.
