@axis-dominion Yeah. I should have learned the lesson then. :) I both missed the obvious (the transport off Quebec) and had been thinking about how I sometimes waste units being overly cautious on defense. Should have recognized that this was not a moment where one could be overly cautious.

I had so many blockers out in part because I made a sloppy error on the last turn assuming that air could land in Midway. It couldn’t and I needed to pull back carriers which made my fleet at Caroline Islands to weak. That meant at least one more destroyer blocker and I was just debating whether I would have any when I realized my mistake.
After, I thought they might have been worth it in that the new set up would have more likely encouraged you to pull the Americans back to Hawaii. But I never expected them all to hit! A bit ridiculous, but of course I’ll take the luck.
Yeah it ended up being nearly even TUV which is quite unfortunate :cry:.
