OK, not a firewall issue.
Your issue has occurred to many before (see the TripleA support forum ) -
TripleA uses an old Java version here.
You mentioned that you had updated Java. Unfortunately TripleA does not use that updated version, but an old version “hidden” on your system. This old version once had been bundled with an old TripleA installation.
Now to solve your problem you need to manually remove this old installation.
First shut down (close) Triple A.
Now use the Windows explorer and go to
C:\program files
Doubleklick on this folder and find the folder
c:\program files\common files\
inside.
Doubleklick on that folder and find the folder
c:\program files\common files\i4j_jres\
inside.
Now be careful to do exactly the following:
Right-klick on the folder “i4j_jres” and choose “delete” (or maybe “remove” - not sure what it says in English). Confirm the deletion/removal.
Be sure not to delete anything unwanted but only the folder “i4_jres” (including its subfolders).
Once this has been removed start TripleA and retry.
Maybe it already works then using the Java update you have installed.
If not, no problem… we move on , then.

I get a message saying No JVM found on system. Please define EXE4J_JAVAHOME to point to an installed 64bitJDK or JRE or download a JRE from www.java.com

OK, looks like you did not install the correct Java when you updated.
Please go to Windows Control Panel.
In the Software section (AFAIK it is called “Programs and Features” or simply “Programs”) please search for a Java installation.
Uninstall any Java installation you find there. If there isn’t any move on.
Then move to
https://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
and download the Windows Offline 64-bit installation file.
Install Java.
Try restarting TripleA after that.
