    Ger attacked sz97 with ten planes 35 power, so I rolled before asking for OOL. Gave 6 hits, so sank your fleet on first round and no need for OOL. Bomber hit CR off E. Africa, but also got hit. So Brit tt survived. Tried that in another game and also failed to sink the tt.

    Japan had overwhelming air power. I made an air attack on Sze with 9 planes, power of 32 against just 4 inf, and rolled only 2. Inf hit round 1 and round 2. Jpn combat -6.5. As usual, my opponents hit better against expensive planes and ships than against cheap ground troops.

    I keep putting undefended Jpn tt’s where they can be sunk, like in prior games. I could have left it with the fleet, but I didn’t want to be tied up if you did a sneaky Carl. And it was moving to a naval base. Didn’t notice that the Brit DD could reach, or else didn’t know if Brit would DOW. My aggressive moves against China often provoke an unprovoked Allied DOW.

    Lousy dice again. I attacked Brit dd with bomber & CR, 2 units attack power of 7, against a single ship defense power of 2. 97% bat calc. But I lost. 0/3 hits, defender 2/2. When I attack with expensive planes and ships, my opponent hits every time. But when I attack with cheap ground troops, as in my tanks in Rus, the enemy misses. I could have used the ftr against the dd instead of in Rus, but the ftr also missed round 1. -24 TUV, that’s 2 turns of income. Coming this early in the game, will have a lasting effect.

    I can see missing every shot and the other player rolling average or poorly; but for the other player to hit every shot in the same battle, should be extremely rare. But missing all or almost all vs hitting all or almost all, happens about once a week in my games.

My first 2 German attacks I had a total of 5 hits and retreated with a tank and a plane. It was over at that point I eventually threw the towel in on 7

    That sounds terrible. I failed to take Fra on G1 once and I conceded immediately. I’ve had some unbelievably great dice rolls. In a game a year ago, Ger and then Jpn had spectacular dice in 2 massive battles. In another game, I think with the same opponent, he bombed London on G2 in prep for Sea Lion and my AA rolled snake eyes and shot down both bombers. I took no damage, so built the limit. Without those bombers, his sea invasion failed miserably, also due to dice in my favor.

    Here’s how to post the game turn. Launch Triplea; click on “open save game” and choose our game. Select Start PBEM. In the “Play by Forum” category, in “Topic id” type our game ID 32735. Then type in your personal login to the forum - suprise attack. Then type in your latest password.
    You probably had to reset your password when we migrated over to the new forum site.
    If you click on PBEM first and then choose save game, make sure that the Topic id: is 32735 (our game).

    I liked the strategy that D.A., as Ger, used on me as Rus in 32718. So I tried it with you, by Italy DOW and attacking E. Pol. But then I researched and found that Rus could declare war on Ger on R3, even if Ger doesn’t declare war first. Ger has a vulnerable spot, altho risky for Rus to exploit it. I calculated that the Ger fleet with tt can be sunk by Rus or Brit planes if it advances this turn; that Fin army can be destroyed if it advances this turn. And Ger has to maintain large air presence for defense in Med after Italy lost attack on Brit DD. And Fre marched to Tobruk, after defeating Ita.
