    Battle for Java was what bat calc said. It was worth the risk, as I could have retreated after first round with inf as hits and no more bombardment. U.S. should have put a dd to prevent bombardment. I had spare planes in Phil and Asia to replace lost planes on CVs. I could have put all ships in Java Sea and ignore Phil and not put blocker DDs. U.S. air couldn’t reach Phil and U.S. only had 1 tt and ANZ had no tt to reach. But I took the time to calc defending both Java and Phil. Had the luxury of tons of DDs and subs from 2 turns of builds. U.S. air only attack on Java Sea would be costly and my fleet would still be able to hold off ANZ fleet. Japan up to 92 PU. Battle not a game changer, as TUV swing was minimal and U.S. still have many planes. Allies lost 10 planes and Japan lost 8. Japan bought ftrs for the first time to replenish losses. Dice were good to me elsewhere, as I didn’t lose a unit. But they will die in counterattacks.

    I’m glad that I got the last of the money isles back and the N.O. and defended my tts. But I had to spare the ANZ tt in order to bombard. But the Axis can’t win just by trading units and TUV. A good dice roll would have let me keep my 2 bombers. Which would have made a noticeable swing in TUV. The U.S. still has too many planes for Japan to take Aust. Even if I could sink the allied fleet, I wouldn’t have the power to kill your land based planes. So your planes would sink what remained of my fleet after the sea battle.

    I had asked you to edit Jpn ftr from W. India > India. There was no post option without advancing into U.S. beyond purchasing phase. I might have considered intercepting your bomber raid. But the odds were small and neutral advantage, so I will make the edit myself and not ask for retro action. It was your turn for attacker to win skirmishes without losses. I see the allies have finally decided to put some pressure on Germany from the Atlantic side. Ger has survived fairly well despite 2 bad land battles and a sea battle. Not saying I would have taken Moscow by now otherwise, but if I still had my panzer army and planes, I would have been in a better position.

    Your edit of Brit turn on Brit’s save game, after I had posted Italy’s turn, is suspicious. First, you should have edited it on my save game. Second, Italy advanced to Bulg to threaten Gre because U.S. had been building up units there, but not tt’s. While Brit had kept its tt’s there, but only one offensive unit. I assumed that the U.S. was giving itself the option of loading onto Brit tt’s to invade Italy in the subsequent turn. I wanted the U.S. to have to choose between invading Italy or losing Gre. Those Brit tt’s have been there for several turns. Now, suddenly, you choose to move them only after Italy advances to threaten Gre. I don’t know if this should be allowed. I want this to be a friendly game. So give me some rationale, so I can buy into it.

    No ill will intended. I teach and coach and I’m on the move. I rely on my phone sometimes for notifications. I had too many email notifications and didn’t see one for the game and hadn’t thought you moved and then I edited thinking it’s still my turn.
