I’d rather fix the troubles. You haven’t given me or anyone any real information. But if you aren’t up for that we can cancel the game.
What more information would you like? I get to China’s combat roll and it says that it cannot find the dice server and gives me a list of possible reasons. I’ve updated Java and it doesn’t seem to help. Not sure what to do next.
@simon33 said in BSD (Allies) vs SImon33 (Axis) BM3:
Bummer. Perhaps if you can post the info in the Software forum, including the “Properties” panel from the Debug|Show Console window.
Then we might be able to help more. These issues are really frustrating. In 1.8 Java was packaged in with the installer, making it very large but at least it had a lot less issues.

Ok, thanks. Can you also post the info from the Triple-A Console?
So under the Debug pull down menu there’s a Show Console button. When you reveal that, select the panel “Properties”. Then post that.
You might be having a different problem from that info.

Ok, somehow you’re using an old Java version there. Not sure if it’s causing the problem but it can’t be helping.
You can try removing the old version(s) via Windows Control Panel. If that doesn’t work, we can post something on the software forum. I don’t use Windows that often any more.
@BSD said in BSD (Allies) vs SImon33 (Axis) BM3:
c:\program files\common files\i4j_jres\1.8.0_144\lib\endorsed
You need to manually remove the i4j_jres folder including its subfolders from the above path on your drive.
Then download the Java offline installation file for Windows 64bit and install the latest Java.
You get it here: https://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Find additional help here:
https://java.com/en/download/help/windows_offline_download.xml
Wow panther, how did you know to post in this thread?
@simon33 It appeared as latest thread in my “unread”-view :-)
Okay, thanks so much for the help guys. I will attempt to do what Panther suggested when I get home from work later today.
I completed the steps suggested by Panther and I’m still getting the error message when i roll China’s combat.
Bugger!
If you go back to Debug->Show Console->Properties, what Java version is revealed?

@panther2 Any idea on this one? Seems there’s now a new version of Java. Looks like that wasn’t the problem here though.
It works for me, although in one attempt it failed to load.
@simon33 Please mention me with @Panther, as panther2 is on Github only (someone else unfortunately took Panther there before…). I only found this thread by chance again when looking through my (still unfiltered) “Unreads”. ;-)
@BSD can you please start any new game, configure the dice server with two valid (registered) email-addresses and perform a dice server test. When reporting back please indicate the full TripleA version (1.9.0.0.xxxxx) you are using, too.
This must be the culprit:
400 The plain HTTP request was sent to HTTPS port
With the additional information I hope we get that sorted.
@Panther So I started a new game with our email and the dice server test worked just fine. My engine version is 1.9.0.0.7378
@BSD This is quite an outdated TripleA version. I recommend that you install the latest release version as indicated here:
https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/topic/32464/triplea-new-stable-release-working-with-the-forum
You can install it next to your existing installation if you want, just be sure to install it into a different installation folder, then. Just be sure about which version you start when playing.
With the new version you will be able to post to the forum as usual, too.
Your Java installation is fine, now.
Good luck :-)
I can duplicate your problem with build 7378.
Sorry for the bum steer with the Java version. That’s been the problem a lot of other times. It annoys me greatly that the debug info doesn’t include the build number. I thought that build 7378 would still be ok but obviously something has happened with the dice roller in that time.
