I spread myself thin attacking all allied ships. TUV +31 vs Brit and +10 vs Fra. I didn’t need many planes to take out Brit Taranto fleet, as CVs without supporting ships can’t take hits without me retreating and the CV ftrs drowning. The one battle that I was really counting on was sz76. My bomber had 80% chance of sinking the Brit CR and 40% of also sinking the 2 tt’s. The bomber and CR both died, but I didn’t get the tt’s. More important than their PU value, it would have prevented convoying the African troops to join the attack on the Italians in Alex. I planned on landing enough Ger planes to protect the Italians. But having to land planes in Gib to reach the French fleet, and not sinking the tt’s in sz76, left me with insufficient planes to land in Alex and too many Brit ground troops. Sorry Italian army. As it is, the Luftwaffe lost 5 planes. That’s not fatal to Barbarossa, and Italy has a chance to earn N.O.s and hold off Brit.
Yeah, you were in a tough spot. I liked putting my French fleet near Gibraltar to make you German planes fly all the way over there. We probably both got what we wanted and could’ve done better or worse. You wiped out all the Allies in the Med, which was significant number of ships, and I burned some of the Luftwaffe. I agree it’s not fatal to Barbarossa.
The Indian Brits are the aggressor and declared war on the innocent Japanese!!

You also made an unprovoked attack on Jpn Yun in our first team game. I thought it was because I, as Jpn, had burned thru China in 2 turns, decimating their army. This time, Jpn’s invasion of China is going slower. So I was surprised that you would make the unprovoked attack, thus preventing U.S. from entering the war early. You have invested heavily in Egypt. The 2 tt’s that escaped the Ger attack will make it easier for you to re-garrison Egypt. I didn’t want to expend a second bomber to take them out on Ger’s turn.
I’m going to be working in the yard with the weather turned cool. May not get to Italy’s turn until tomorrow night. -

Couldn’t do Italy without planning Ger, as what Ger planes do is critical to Italy. Ger attacking Taranto raiders and sz96 were easy. But Ger also attacked tt by Gib and E. Africa fleet. So the loss of the Italian fleet by the Fre, required every Ger plane to complete yet another task, with no naval support. I compounded the problem by landing the Ger planes in S. Italy, that could have and should have landed back in W. Ger. Normally, Rus doesn’t go big into Scan, because it wants to consolidate in the south; and because Ger has lots of planes to aid the Fin army. But now, no Ger planes are within range and Rus has armor and planes that can reach Fin. Quite the role reversal. But it could become a trap for the Rus to divide their forces. Ger doesn’t need the Italians to take E. Pol, as Ger ground troops can hold their own without air defense.

Couldn’t do Italy without planning Ger, as what Ger planes do is critical to Italy. Ger attacking Taranto raiders and sz96 were easy. But Ger also attacked tt by Gib and E. Africa fleet. So the loss of the Italian fleet by the Fre, required every Ger plane to complete yet another task, with no naval support. I compounded the problem by landing the Ger planes in S. Italy, that could have and should have landed back in W. Ger. Normally, Rus doesn’t go big into Scan, because it wants to consolidate in the south; and because Ger has lots of planes to aid the Fin army. But now, no Ger planes are within range and Rus has armor and planes that can reach Fin. Quite the role reversal. But it could become a trap for the Rus to divide their forces. Ger doesn’t need the Italians to take E. Pol, as Ger ground troops can hold their own without air defense.
Always a risk if USSR goes on the offensive, but maybe it’s just a feint. We’ll see…

Ugh! Terrible dice. With the Rus army in Karelia, I wanted to put immediate pressure on Novg. So I put the main army in Balt instead of E. Pol. So I attack E. Pol with 3 ground and 3 planes, that’s 6 units with power of 16 vs 4 units with defense of 8. I rolled 1 hit and Rus rolled 2. I rolled 1/2 th hits, even tho I had twice the power. I would have retreated rather than risk the TB if only 1 Rus was left. But 3 Rus inf combined with 3 planes could reach any of 3 Ger terr. Odds round 2 were I’d just lose my 1 remaining ground unit. But no, Rus rolled 2/2. Rus overall rolled median of 2 and Ger median of 3. But I’ve assumed an aggressive naval position and have ftrs to scramble and planes in position to attack.

I had intended to build my 2 subs in Norm in sz105 and sz110, but just added them to my fleet without thinking. I will edit on Jpn turn. It won’t affect Rus sub in sz105, as my subs can’t attack without outside assistance.
I didn’t want to use up more ground troops than Rus had in E.Pol, as Rus could overwhelm anything I put there on Rus’ turn. -
