So the axis almost pulled it off. Lost Verviers last turn. Allies just stayed in the other 2 stacks. Could roll them out to see if they get control for the heck of it.

Yes, as long as that hex is not within an enemy zone of control.

The presence of your units in a hex doesn’t change the fact that it’s within an enemy zone of control. You still can’t retreat there.
Retreat is a movement away from the forces that are attacking you. It has nothing to do with where the front lines are. If you attack in such a way as to allow the enemy to retreat forward, that’s your problem! :wink:
