yah I think it’s a good game and still close, still a lot of work ahead for both sides.
the immense pressure on india by the allies was really needed to help open up the pac a little bit for the US fleet, to help regain some lost territory. it’s still too hard to actually retake india, since you are able to fly all your airforce back in range. tho that does make it more difficult for you to go ever deeper into the pac for a final VC.
I’m mostly just happy that I have managed to push this into the 20s. I’ve beaten one other M level player but there was a lot of luck involved in that. Otherwise I’ve usually been decisively beaten by round 10. This is a good indication that my game is improving.
And I’m glad that I finally caught you misreading the board.

yah you are having a pretty good game. I usually find that the gib strategy can be very strong if applied with expertise. and you’re certainly doing a pretty good job with it. I have not found much fault in your play other than what I had already mentioned previously (i.e., trying to do too much with G), and a few other things such as allowing US to take and fac Iraq, and of course you missed the counter strike I had on your last Syria attempt, which cost you a few good men. But despite these, your play has been quite exceptional actually. I think you’re either at M level or close to it.
I will say, however, that I did mess up initially in allowing you to undertake the gib strategy. I think I could’ve chosen a different UK opening that would’ve averted the whole gib thing entirely. I guess I wasn’t counting on your getting so lucky in 106, which cost me ships I needed to thwart your G navy from descending down to 91.

I think you are right.I had been fairly confident that I would have enough air in range to reinforce it over at least one more turn. Should have checked that more carefully.

the gib strat you employed hinges on seeing gib all the way thru. if at any point it is lost, it invalidates everything you’ve been working for. while losing w.india is a big deal, I don’t think it is enough to compensate for the loss of gib. but I could be wrong! let’s see what happens.

normally, yes. but you had to send most everything over to get w.india, which meant, I could send most everything over to get gib. it was a trade.

I was rather pleased with my Japan set up there. I thought I had likely forced you out of W India without letting you make too much of an immediate inroad in the pacific. But I expected you to keep spending on that rather than on the Atlantic.

yah, spending more in the pac doesn’t buy me anything immediate or short to mid term. it would’ve allowed you to make gains on mainland without much loss in the pac. that’s why I figured, if you’re going to go heavy on threatening the Middle East, I can go heavy on retaking gib. I can get more bang for my buck by gaining gib. opens everything up.
