Okay let me think about it as I look at the map tonight.
I have decided to carry on as is. I grow weary of allowing edits after the turn has posted and the next power has gone. I guess I expect more from the higher caliber players. It’s not just you but in some of my other games as well. If you were an inexperienced player I would be much more forgiving. But the Denmark can opener is a pretty basic capital move that I am sure you are well aware of. At what point am I not supposed to benefit from my opponents mistake? I hope you understand my position. You have every right to concede if you wish but I feel you still have a strong enough position that you might be able to recover. It will be a set back for Germany but I have no other allied Atlantic position that I can make stick for some turns to come.
-
I hope you understand my position.
I really don’t.
It’s not that I missed the Denmark can opener. I was just too fast / too inattentive when placing the units at the end.
You have every right to deny the edit, I simply don’t consider it a good sportsmanship and will refrain from playing against you in the future.
That you’re trying to sugarcoat it by telling me the game is not lost after that is the icing on the cake for me. -

That you’re trying to sugarcoat it by telling me the game is not lost after that is the icing on the cake for me.Sorry you feel that way. As for sportmanship, owning up to your mistake is a much better show of sportmanship than me giving you a pass for something you “didn’t miss” but were just to “fast and inattentive” to take in to account. It seems like a pretty important part of your turn, protecting your capital and all. I just don’t buy it. You didn’t see it and only realized it after Russia had gone. Again I ask at what point is someone not supposed to take advantage of an opponents mistake? I have made many a mistake and lost games. I would never ask for an edit in that situation. Just live with it, learn from it and try to be better next time. That’s what I do. I guess we will not playing each other anymore and that’s your choice, but please do not try and make me look bad because of your mistake. (as you did in the game result thread)
-
I was not flaming you, I was not distorting facts. I was not insulting you. I was simply stating what had happened. If you feel that makes you look bad - well think about what that means…
You don’t believe me that I originally planned to place the units split in W Germany and Germany, and that’s your right. It’s up to you. Let me just tell you, that I’m playing 10 games simultaneously right now and therefore am not focusing on each and every turn as much as I would do if I was playing only 2-3 games. That’s not an excuse, it’s the explanation how those things can happen.
I can live with it, but I can not really “learn from it” and “be better next time” as you suggest, because I already know about the Denmark opener. As I already said - you have every right to act like you did. If you play this game for the results, which is fine, it makes sense. If you play it for the satisfaction of being better than your opponent and thus beating him that’s something else. I doubt this win will give you a lot of satisfaction, but it all comes down to what you value more.
