    Haha fair enough. I know what you’re saying and I’m feeling you, truly.
    All I wanted to say is: Overall, the dice were pretty much average - just very badly distributed for you.

    That is the key isn’t it, distribution and timing… getting lots of one’s and two’s when you are attacking and have overwhelming odds is meaningless. But winning those 50/50 battles, or rolling up when you are defending a losing cause makes all the difference.

    I decided to get away from my recent, axis preferred, opening. I shouldn’t have committed the entire ITA navy to attacking ALG, putting everything in harm’s way. Attacking GIB was a bad idea, perhaps not so bad if I didn’t miss everything, holding off with JPN was simply a reaction to what was happening in the Atl, but again not a wise decision. I will be playing catch up as the axis again, not a good place to be. It will be tough to pull this out from a skilled opponent such as yourself!

    And thanks for the praise. Again, I agree that dicings especially hurt against opponents on a similar skill level. Against lower-level players, it just creates a challenge that makes the game interesting. Against better players one would have probably lost anyways under normal circumstances.

    I’m in a very, very similar situation against Karl, our 3rd game after each of us won one game. My axis there look very dire after 2 rounds already, because of bad dice. And it all happened in the Med / at Gib too. So I know the position you find yourself in.

    The first 2-3 rounds of the game are just crucial for the Axis. It’s not always possible to avoid risky but important battles, something you can do later on in the game. Also, the stacks are a lot lower so just a handful of bad dice can ruin the complete game.
    Maybe a way around this would be a Low-Luck-Reroll agreement?

    Oh no, don’t get me wrong. I am not looking to re roll or a different agreement, just talking. most of the position I find myself in, in our game is due to decisions I have made. Bad dice happen to good people all the time! missing the two three’s against GIB B AF hurt but I shouldn’t have put myself in the position where I HAD TO hit two…that is my fault. Yeah I am just talking. I saw you beat Karl, well done. and isn’t it amazing how the adam’s, Zhukov’s and Gameraman’s can amass such a crazy winning percentage in a game where luck is such a factor!!! It makes me realize how much skill, math etc. go into this and how lacking I am at times! Ha Ha, anyways, nice just chatting with you about this game. FYI, I have played wheat beer a few times and we have used his low luck re-roll rules, which I think are good, although complicated, maybe not complicated but I don’t really pay much attention and then I find it complicated, haha. I find his low luck house rules just another rule component that you have to properly manage like getting NO’s etc…anyways, if you haven’t played wheat or used those rules you should give it a try. OK, I’ll get to this turn, sorry for my incessant chatting.  :roll: do me a favor, makes some blunders ok?

    yeah wheat has some specifications on capitals and %'s etc. I think he suggests two each and then if both are used by both parties they get another two. Every time we play I agree to those terms, I have been hurt and benefitted from these rules. I tend to take them for smaller battles and not save them for a big one. It decided one game we played as my good luck in a major battle was reversed. I think I am too lazy to start suggesting this.
