The wire mesh was added late in the war. It detonates panzerfaust and similar weapons inches from the main armor. This also serves well to stick camo in.

WINTER TROOPS (pic 1,2,&3)
For the winter troops, I made a plaster-putty-paint mixture. This was not applied with brush strokes, but dabbed on in thick patches. Each dob had to be prefect, because any use of a brush r any wiping would make a white paint smear, and I wanted the snow to only be on the tops of the logs and such.
Footprints were added where they should be.
MAXIMS (pic 4)
Brit MGs used, with scratch built wheels and carriages and ammo belts.
CAVALRY (pic 5)
What can I say? I am an animal lover, so these horses got the finest wet-damp-dry highlighting I could do.
