How did my fighters not scramble from western germany to defend the Navy, i mean i put three fighters for the scramble. Not sure what or how that happens. They will scramble every time in that scenario.

I open that file, and the first thing that happens at combat is- do i wish to scramble so i did and i was able to defend with planes as well. I get that i dont have a destroyer there, but its not my first rodeo i left those planes there for a reason. Im sure not leaving 5 tt sit with one cruiser unprotected. I dont get why it is giving me the option to scramble and fight in that sz, is it because the sub comes up to attack the cruiser, like a surface ship thing?
Open your turn, locally. The just set your sub at the cruiser and TT, everytime i do it it asks me to scramble and i blow the sub out of the water. I just want to make sure its right, im not attacking so im not sure i need a destroyer to defend.
I just made a random game, if you are defending and a sub attacks, and you have a airbase. Yes you can scramble, and yes you can return fire if the sub chooses not to submerge.
i just attacked a battleship in open water with a sub, the sub attacked, and did not submerge there it gets to return fire, only if you sunk it with a single sneak attack shot would i not get to return fire, either way i am still able to scramble my planes when you attack before combat even happens. Unless the game is broke, that’s how it works. lets get it correct.
I think you did hit with the sub on 1 fire which would sink my cruiser, but because the sub attacked…… my planes will be there to take it out and save my transports.(one would assume the planes, at least one would hit or on round 2 you would submerge, again saving my transports. Ill message gamerman.

You need a Destroyer , I am afraid, Sixunder.
If a Sub sinks your Cruisrr , the TTs go down the following rounds. Air cannot hit a a Sub without a DD.
AAA asks if you want to scramble , but is silly, as they can’t do anything except watch as the Transports are sunk one at a time . -

Load the game file, attack with the sub, you will be offered to scramble of course i did in the mock event of it. My planes shot the sub down as a defender. Just saying, i dont make the rules, thats what happens in the game with the most recent client. Load the file, i am able to do it everytime.
However, if thats how it is try this out for size.
Create a game, put any surface warship non DD in a sz, attack it with a sub alone. If you attack and miss, the opposing ship gets to return fire. Anywhere. Not to mention the planes which are scrambled also get to return fire.
