Don't always trust TripleA when it comes to rules questions. Know the rules before you start … and better check what TripleA has done.

Thanks. I wasn’t sure if the intent of limited number of ICs was supposed to be part of the game strategy or not. I’ll probably just use legos as markers then.

My bad, its just 1 sub + 1 fig you can bring to attack the Aussie fleet. (sub + cruiser + trans + 2 inf)

Seems like a good trade (average 24 defender IPC losses in excess of attacker losses)

And, if you survive with the fighter and land it on a carrier next to New Zealand, the US will have to make a choice.
Either bring some of the Pacific fleet (Hawaii) down to New Zealand to kill the fig and carrier, and thus delay atlantic fleet build up. Or just ignore the carrier+fig.

Hi again. Bombers can do Strategic Bombing against a Factory and damage them. This makes placing units harder or more expensive.
Battleships and Cruisers can aid in an amphibious assault; that is called a Bombardment.

It’s the attacker’s option whether he wants to stop and fight the sub or move on through. If he attacks the sub then the destroyer must end its movement in that sea zone for the turn.

Last paragraph on Page 11 of the rulebook states that “An enemy submarine and/or transport does not block any of your units’ movement, nor does it prevent loading or offloading that sea zone. As the moving player you have the option of attacking an enemy submarine that shares a sea zone with you.”

When Pacific 1940 2nd edition came out, with its distinctive sculpt shapes for the ANZAC forces, I took the nation-specific storage box in which I had stored the 1st edition’s “ANZAC” sculpts (the butternut-grey British units) and I changed the box label to “Canada”.Â The single change I made to the box contents is that I transferred a few of the 2nd edition ANZAC anti-aircraft guns to the Canadian inventory since that sculpt type wasn’t in the 1st edition.Â The colour matches, so they don’t look out of place.

Not to be a complete nerd, but this just reminds me of the old Death Star problem: the engineers probably told the defense coordinators they were placing a venting shaft directly out of the reactor, and when the defense coordinators complained to the general contractor, the general contractor blew them off citing cost overruns that would occur if they put a simple angel in the shaft line so proton torpedoes couldn’t dive straight down. Really?

Avalon Hill can’t spare one person looking fresh at all the game components before they go out to make sure they, like, add up? Really?
