    Snigg,

    Just going to ask you a few questions if you dont mind. Then I am going to ask them on the forums too.

    How the heck do you defend Russia?I mean I don’t know if I have really done anything wrong other than attacks not working?  I mean what could I have done differently? As the Germans you have so many troops coming at me and yet you can spend 20 + ipcs on troops to go west?

    Also how do you defend China?  I mean I had no chance there… none what so ever?

    No problem, I’m always willing to give my interpretation of the game.

    Defending Russia is one of the main challenges of the Allies, and you’re not doing anything wrong with it.  I’ve had to back off from next to the capital since I needed more units to maybe take it.  Russia had 2 things in great supply during the war that made the Wehrmacht stall…land and men.  Well, that and a brutal winter…  In the game you don’t have the winter to help, but you can build men out the yang, and you have been.  Russia can’t stand toe to toe with Germany on the front lines.  The only thing they really can do is bide time and try and slow the advance long enough for their Allies to hit Germany/Italy in Europe/Africa so that they have to split their attention.

    China…that’s the other biggie.  They don’t have much of anything they can do, other than slow Japan down, and that requires help really.  I go after China a lot harder than some do, but it limits my options for trying to take India quickly.  I’m using planes in China that would be needed to overwhelm the forces in Calcutta. Stacking Burma with UK and moving up to Yunnan after war is declared is a good option.  However, that does leave Calcutta more at risk.  Just need to make sure you have enough that can get back in time to stop a Japanese invasion.

    From the initial setup, Japan has a lot of goals that they want to try and accomplish quickly and hold on to…but the problem is the goals are so far apart on the map, they can’t aim their force at more than one at a time really, without diffusing their power, which causes them to suffer more losses that are hard to recoup.

    1. if i attack japan sz with the destroyer and the two aircraft and you kill the destroyer with kamikaze strikes do the planes still get to attack the sub or does the attack not happen?

    2. if i attack Gibralter with the American fleet and ground troops and you scramble who does your three fighters attack/defend against?  All the ground and air or jsut the fleet?  I have no idea how this one works out?

    1. Kamikazes happen after combat moves, but before actual combat starts.  So, if you send planes and one DD against the sub, and I manage to knock out the DD with a kami then the sub can submerge and the planes can’t hit.  Attack happens, it’s just futile really.  Of course the odds of hitting on a kamikaze isn’t very good.

    2. If I scramble all/some of the planes in Gibraltar, then they will fight a naval battle with whatever is left in the sea zone.  The land units (and whatever planes you sent) would fight the land war then.  So, it depends on what you leave in the sea zone and what you send against the land units as to whether scrambling is good or not for me.

    Hi Snigg,

    Two things… could you edit and move 1 inf from burma to shan state…

    Secondly, I think I found a bug in TripleAA.  After taking French IndoChina this turn the game was going to allow me to place my UK Pacific Builds in French Indo China.  I have understood you have to hold a territory for a turn before you can build… Am I wrong in that assumption? Or can I place my builds there… Seems really strange that i would be allowed to put my builds there.
