Absolutely. A person that is given some liberties regarding how they spend their time at work will usually perform better in the long run than somebody that is forced to “work” for the duration. Granted, this is the case for salaried professionals more so than for menial, minimum wage hourly jobs where the worker is much more replaceable. A professional that you need to put significant resources into to make them an important, contributing member of the organization should be allowed some freedom in this regard. If their job is high-stress, they will just get burned out quicker if the stress isn’t relived in some manner.
I have to dis the lancet again. seriously, 90%? use better methods.

the only thing i want people to talk about is,……90%?
that seems a little steep, could be just me though.

Yeah 90% is definitely too high. Where did they get this info?

I don’t know if the numbers are accurate, but there are nations like Cuba who realize that infant mortality rate is viewed by the global community as a sign of good or bad health care. Thus, if there are ANY complications in the pregnancy, regardless of severity, the pregnancy is terminated. This way the infant mortality rate is extremely low in nations like that. This could be why the number is so high. It may not be voluntary abortions, but state ordered abortions, you know?

ahh, like china. 100’s of millions of forced abortions. and they get the olympics, what a crock.

I don’t think it’s been decided for sure yet on who gets the olympics

The 29th Olympiad will be held next year in Bejing.
The 30th Olympiad will be held in London.
-
You sure? Cause Mayor Daley’s still working on securing the Olympics.

Yes. Beijing 08, Vancouner '10, London '12, Sochi Russia '14
To get back on topic, did you read the article balung? It specifically stated that the reason for this number is the fact that some women have multiple abortions. Personally, my girlfriends mother had TWO abortions before she carried my girlfriend to full-term.
Reminds me of something my girlfriend once told me. She tried to claim that the United States divorce rate was 120% because people marry, divorce, re-marry, and divorce again. I attempted to explain to her that you simply cant reach 120% divorce rate, as well as the fact that she was attempting to present the argument in an invalid statement.

Daley must be going for '16 then
