    Yes, I got very lucky in Hunan…for my point of view, I’m glad one area went better.

    I’ll take 2/3 UK fighter hits in SZ110 in trade for Hunan.

    I think you’re off to a great start this game as the Axis. Probably a strong Moscow purchase might net result in a Moscow sack on round 8 or sooner. I should not have scrambled as the UK.

    I actually like Sea Lion when I know that I can properly manage Russia. I think it’s more deadly than people give it credit. Many details have to go Germany’s favor for me to go for it.

    I was disappointed that my 3 fighter scramble in SZ110 all completely missed. The German Battleship wasn’t there so I had a chance to hurt Germany’s air force…still scrambling is not usually optimal, but dang; well, it’s a dice game; just the way it goes sometime.

    Hindsight is 20/20 of course, but a reason I thought I could manage Russia is because you were going for Scandinavia; post Sea Lion, it’s easier to get that back as opposed to dislodging a strong Russian stack from E. Poland gobbling up NOs along the border.

    I’m surprised that would make Sea Lion weaker in your opinion. I suppose if you hold on to your sea lion transports, retaking Scandanavia shouldn’t be too difficult but generally I see them being sunk by the USA eventually.

    I buy 1-2 carrier the turn I do Sea Lion; hopefully have enough planes for them. Unless the US has a stack of bomber coming and lands on Scotland or Ireland, that’s the only I’ve seen the US sink the German fleet in SZ110.

    No, I think Sea Lion is not weaker when Russia goes for Scandinavia. That means less of a threat to Berlin and less likely for Russia to hold E. Poland which is harder for Germany post - Sea Lion. That’s what I meant. With all of those transports, in the Baltic Germany can land on Norway on say turn 4 or most like turn 5.

    I try to get in position after a Sea Lion game in the Baltic where as Germany I can threaten to kill a US fleet in SZ 110 and re-take London. If of course the US spends so much money to come with the power to easily hold SZ 110, than Japan better be kicking butt.

    I guess that might be another way to counter your US-Norway / Russia-Finland move other than throwing away 16 IPCs (or the cruiser and 1 destroyer as blockers just to die).

    I don’t like purchasing boats with Germany unless I’m getting London or Cairo. If not, then I think Germany has to spend a lot of money on non-mobile units like infantry with some artillery at least 2 turns of shuck-shuck to Leningrad to mitigate the costs.
