@argothair yes that indeed is an issue. That is why i stop doing taranto but this form of Gibastion. This way i save the fleet and carrier. So UK 2 i move them (UK fighters from the Med and London who are now in algeria) to Egypte and there on to Moscow. Togethee with the Anzac fighters this gives Russia a bit of breathing space.
The factory in Egypte buys subs and a fighter turn two and from turn 3 on fighters abd Land units .
It is not the perfect plan but wirh a US going 75% KJF you can’t invade Europe direct.

The transports can retreat but cannot unload. In this case, on the next Japanese turn the transport is probably dead unless there are Allied ships guarding the transport.

If a US transport picks up 2 ANZAC infantry, can they goto an enemy island during non-combat phase? There are no enemy ships there but could scramble enemy fighters. During the ANZAC turn, they send in ANZAC combat ships and planes to support the landing of their troops from the US transports. Ok?

When loading Allied troops on a US transport, the transport cannot move until the US turn and the troops cannot be unloaded until the Allied power’s turn comes back around. The sequence you described is:

ANZAC: Load troops onto a US transport during ANZAC non-combat movement.
US: Move transport:
ANZAC: Unload troops during either combat or non-combat movement. (Note that in this case the transport cannot retreat as it did not move.)

Stratbombers and Dark Skies are so flexible and effective, that buying up to 6 is optimal play. Strategic bombing is a bit too powerful OOB because Russia has little defense. But on top of that, the 6 range and cheap cost makes them a bit overpowered–they are one of the few units that can consistently reach some interesting target the turn after they are built.

After almost 200 games in the last 3 years, I need to try new things.

I bet that it will be fun and that it is possible to learn a lot. But honestly I don’t have the time to spare for another game.

We play with four people via mail with about one turn per week. So it is a quite slow game. Some people play and test their turns a lot, but I mae my turn in 30min without double checking.

In truth I was highly motivated to pull off what I did. In my group of friends there was one guy that was only friends with me because he was a buddy of my best friend. This guy was always correcting me. Always arguing with anything I said or did. I beat him at A&A all the time. That night I decide to “let” him win.

As an aside note this guy has serious anger issues to this day. In adult life we happily parted ways. In some of my other posts he’s referred to as the “Tank Chucker” for throwing a Russian tank at a radiator and literally making a loud clank as if it were hit by a bullet.

Another guy that was part of our group fo friends was one of the nicest guys you’d ever meet. However he was not a strategist and usually played fantasy games or ccgs. We played Classic over and over because he kept losing your insisting we keep playing till he beat me. When I did let him win he called BS saying I wasn’t really playing lol. So we continued playing. He still never won a two player match with me but he still enjoyed simply playing.

So I suppose that was a long post…but God I loved those days. Damn neard every Friday night we would play Classic until Saturday morning.

I realize that the AA guns are more effective when definding in the west against Allied “liberation” attempts. The big question is whether the tempo gain of bringing them east is worth it, and ultimately more efficient.

What I mean is: Yes, an AA-gun is better at defending a stationary stack than advancing with the aim of possibly taking some very random pot-shots at enemy planes. That is pretty obvious. � BUT they happen to start on the board in round one, and they typically won’t be needed in the west for the first several rounds. Bringing them east from the beginning will add some momentum to Barbarossa, but at the cost of a less attractive puchase mix during the mid-game if they are to be replaced by newly purchased AA-guns or their equivalent in infantry. Is the boost worth that downside?

There’s no yes or no answer to that. Even on G1, where I move the aa guns depends on what went down on G1. I’ll still be making those choices on G2-G3, depending on how the game is playing out. The aa guns in the East have limited utility because they have no attack value–their utility is to lessen Russia’s odds of a successful counter-attack. Whether Germany needs them out there depends on what Germany and Russia are doing.

I would avoid buying new aa guns mid-game as Germany. With that in mind, I’d keep half the aa guns back, barring exceptional circumstances. There’s the possibility of moving east until G3, and then turning back, in time to protect Berlin.
