Question: If Stalin’s death were the only thing required for communism to be destroyed in the USSR, how did the Soviet regime manage to survive until 1991 despite the fact that Stalin died thirty-eight years earlier in 1953?
I suppose that if you’re a POW, there are worse places to be held than that camp. I wonder if any of these men stayed in Canada after the war, if that option was available.
@crusaderiv if they could take them so easily, then why couldn’t the spanish take it back? a mid atlantic post for the kreigmarine would’ve been invaluable. also, the uboats didn’t need to operate there if Sea Lion had happened, which would have if spain had joined, due to the increased pressure on England. why would they be there? there’s no basis for this argument.
