Here’s the game file. It looks like play-by-forum is still broken in TripleA. Since this is friendly, I didn’t bother with a dice server so feel free to use the built-in dice roller. Upload the save file when you’re done.
G40 BM2 Rommel X vs Colt L "Third times a charm"

Please NCM Ger sub from sz114>113.
Epic battle in Bry. I used all units available, not just to make sure that I won, but to have sufficient armor left to deter a counterattack by 15 Rus inf surrounding Bry. What a diff a few turns make. Once U.S. committed itself to Scan by moving to Fin, Ger didn’t need to protect its Capital, so immediately moved 4 inf towards Lenin and also mobile units. They arrived just in time to turn back the Amer from Lenin. But Ger can’t hold Lenin, since reinforcements from Ger stopped. A few turns ago, I thought Ger was on a death spiral and Jpn was holding its own. But Brit and partially U.S., switched units and builds towards India/China. UK Pac has 9 planes. That’s a major investment. I gladly trade Lenin for Moscow and its cash and major IC. The U.S. has a major tank corps that will give Ger a tough fight and Brit will come from the south. -
I put everything into the battle so it didn’t rely on the luck of the dice. It turned out slightly better than the battle calc. Ger attacked with an equal # of units but with more firepower and TUV of 417, vs 289 for Rus. Ger lost 235 TUV, Rus 289, for a net TUV of 54. The good dice roll was a small battle: the Ger sub attack on the U.S. dd in sz125. The equal battle odds resulted in a win for Ger and payback for Ger subs lost in the last round. Although ironically, it will reduce the cash that Ger would get from taking Mos.

The dice were slightly in the favor of Germany. It wasn’t much above normal, but the benefit will be enormous. If you had rolled slightly below average, Bryansk could be recaptured by the Russians and reinforced with Allied forces. Moscow could go back again on the offensive the following few rounds, and Egypt would likely fall in a couple of rounds.
Having a few more tanks than expected completely changes all of these scenarios. Obviously this is not an unexpectedly crazy outcome, but it sure is a huge help for you Rommel.

The Rus tank & mech took the wrong fork in the road on the way to attacking the Ger tank in Yakut. Who would go to a place called Sui, when you can go to Yakut?

Another Empire strikes back! This is getting to be fun. Jpn finally got the firepower to attack Yun, using every available plane including from cv’s. Jpn ground troops close to allied strength and 12 planes double allied fig/tb before AA. 9 of 12 subject to AA. Bat calc 78%. Chi & Bri fig move north towards Man was my opening.
Need OOL by country. I will roll round 1. -
16 hits to the Allies. Bonzai, long live the Emperor. (average dice 11 1/2)
-
max d, take the chinese fig last, brit figs second to last.

I couldn’t ask for better dice. R1: 16-6; R2 13-3. Killed all in 2 rounds, some twice. ABH: I didn’t attack any other Chinese terr, only retook unoccupied Hong Kong. Same strat as Ger, of total concentration on a single target. 6 tanks, 1 art and 10 planes survived.

Having incredibly lucky dice does help quite a bit in this game  If the dice were more average, Japan would be in big trouble on the mainland. With bad dice, all of mainland Asia would quickly fall to the Allies. Dice do tend to favor the bold!
-
F-ing 93 battle score :x :cry
-
Yun stats: Jpn 28 units, 76 power, 200 TUV; Allies 27 units, 58 defense, 142 TUV. Jpn lost 49 TUV, net gain 93. This helps offset the sea battle where Jpn sank the U.S. fleet, but suffered far above average loses, including 5 planes. Bri can wipe out the tanks in Yun with adjacent inf and figs, but it will leave them with few troops.
-
Please move Jpn AA from FIC>Yun in NCM also, I had previously asked to move Ger sub from sz114>sz113 and neither of us remembered.
I feel for you, this definitely was dice driven. Altho, I did marshall the resources to improve the odds over what was possible previously.
-
Axis unit count is up to 94% of allies and TUV getting closer, but that will change after U.S. turn. Production getting closer also. Sayonara baby. G’day mate.
-
I’ll make the moves

Thanks
-
Please retreat/land 1 Ger tb in Novg instead of Ukr. Just in case you feel like gambling with the dice. Thanks

The recent series of Axis victories has given the Axis new life, and will extend the game, but probably won’t change the final outcome. Ger won’t have to fight 30 new Rus TUV every turn. But even after Mos falls, Rus will still have 2 armies. And the U.S. has a large tank army that it has the cash and ICs to keep reinforcing. Italy can’t build enough troops to defend its homeland and Egypt, so will depend on Ger troops. Jpn will be hard pressed to hold off the U.S. and ANZ on one side and China on the other, even if Bri turns it’s attention elsewhere and leaves U.K. Pac to defend itself. On the other hand, the cumulative effect of the back-to-back-to-back victories means that the allies can’t shift resources and builds to face any single resurgent threat, without ignoring another. Bri’s capital is guarded by just 2 inf, plus AA. And it has no naval ships in the Atlantic or Med. It still has 12 planes spread around its empire, but it lost 9 planes in the 2 recent defeats. It’s amazing that it had 21 planes one round ago. The single Ger panzer will reach the Pac Ocean unopposed on its next turn. Now that’s newsworthy.
