    Good dice and bad dice.  The AA dice gods favored me again with no hits and max damage.  I could have strat bombed previously, but would of had to move carrier task force to allow fighters to escort against your fighters.  Thanks for moving them away.  This was the only way for Jpn to stop the India/China buildup.  Now it will take several turns for India to repair the damage with it’s low income level.  So my bombers will be free to attack othrt targets.  The minimalist attack on the Chinese provinces didn’t go well.  I had 95% chance of killing the lone defender with an inf and fighter.  But, in two adjacent provinces, both attackers missed and the defender hit.  So I had to place extra garrisons with air support, since China has been successful with the same strategy.  All in all, Jpn is in much better shape than Ger.

    I can’t complain after those solid Chinese rolls but these max bombing raids are hurting. I hope Carolines goes well. I suppose you could attack the fleet but that leaves Asia without air and China and India will not stand still. I’m surprised you thought it worth it to DoW USSR. Now I will get +2 for Persia and maybe Archangel later and you will have to garrison SZ 5 or activate Mongolia.

    I will happily trade a round or two of bombing for a powerful grip on Yunnan. I haven’t checked, but I don’t think you can safely attack SZ 33 and Yunnan in same round.

    The AA has been good to me the past few turns.  I’ve been busy following the history of your allied moves and thinking about Jpn retaking the Carolines.  I left the Jpn fighter there to stop any minor/unsupported invasion.  The Carolines could be a major fleet battle and thus decisive.  ANZ could reinforce the U.S. fleet and then Jpn would have to up the ante, or pass.  Yun is unique because of the China rules.  FIC is off limits and a Chinese move east/NE without India, would open up an opportunity for Jpn to attack.  Brits from Mideast finally coming to the defense of India and taking pressure off of Italy.

    The battle in Rostov went my way and now Ger can blitz into the Cau and/or Stalingrad.  It’s nice not having Italy pressured.  Even tho it has no tt’s, it built fighters for flex instead of defensive land units.  I’m going to work or run outside.  I’ll check back in periodically if you need battle orders for ANZ vs Jpn.  I won’t take Ger turn for a while, lots of tough decisions.

    Will be interesting to see how you split your German army among going north, bryansk, Vol, and Cauc or if you will keep it largely intact.

    Norway was the softest target, Ger unable to counter.  Plus, can rescue Rus from the north, while Brit rescues from the south with ground and air.  Also, troops in Nor can reload to attack the continent.  Ger has the cash to build in Ger and Rus. Cash from taking Cau and maybe Stalin (even if it’s just a token force), will offset lost cash from Nor and that N.O.  But Ger doesn’t have enough strength around Lenin to take back Nor and the Allies have heavy air support.  It’s low 40’s outside, sun feels warm but light breeze chill factor offsets it.  Got to get out of the house for a while.

    I’m included to roll the dice and have Jpn attempt its goal of sinking the U.S. fleet in one big, decisive sea battle. Lately, I read about the Jpn strategy.  Pearl Harbor was their attempt for a decisive battle, but the shallow water meant that much of the damaged U.S. fleet could be repaired and refloated.  So the Jpn planned Midway to be a deep water/open water battle that the U.S. fleet could not repair.  What are your thoughts ABH about the U.S. fleet’s invading Carolines and exposing itself; and a Jpn counterattack?  My reasoning is that if Jpn doesn’t attack, it would have to move the Phil fleet to cover the homeland, thereby leaving Phil open to attack, but then Jpn could counterattack there.
