Woot! IF we can get all the soldiers out of Iraq and send in robots to indescriminately do a Friend or Foe and kill off whatever the robot thinks is an enemy, can we stay?
Sounds to me like a good way to protect Iraq’s borders after the US ground forces pull out. Border security for Maliki, no dead Americans. I like it.
It is true that war is becoming more like video games, and vice versa.
Reminds me of Ender’s Game, in a way…
Rock and roll. That is way cool. They sound too slow though but way cheaper than soldiers or pilots if they get killed.
Sure, trust the security of a nation to a toy.
Ah, good old Balad airbase, sometimes known as “mortoritaville” Best movie theater in Iraq. Nice pool too. Of course thats to be expected it was built by the AF…
Zoomies do like their creature comforts :-P
I have won a few of the Real time Strategy games without air power and none without walls.
The AI opposition will target anything you need for victory. Walls are a cheap protection. Build enough walls early on to secure production/resources of your military units, and you can go steadily from 10% to 99 % of the map.
If it worked for ancient Rome, Mussilini’s Libya, all of those RTS games, I think it might be a good idea in Afghanistan & Iraq.
