    Took a long time to plan and decide.  More complicated than Europe 1940 alone.  Wasn’t in position to take as much as last game after DOW, but felt Jap needed more than FIC and had a chance to take out the ANZ tran and some solitary dd’s in prep for T3.  Euro Axis not happy.  Could have been attacked from India, Aus and Java with varying combos or in succession.  Not taking Yun last turn due to bad dice, allowed China to build art and threaten any small scale advance towards stacked Chi inf.

    I didn’t want ANZ taking 2 more terr and Japan having to fight for them.  The pac Allies were too aggressive for me to sit out another turn.  Japan is in better position now to use it’s 5 trans, 3 car groups and air to take most of DEI, Mal, etc. before the U.S. can seriously interfere.  Not having taken FIC on T1 and no IC or port on T2 is limiting my SE Asia options on T3.  But it did free up enough cash to build a new home fleet for defense.  But I will need to build an IC next turn.

  • One G40 tip on Sea Lion is to avoid doing a DoW for Japan until after the attack on London.  With your J2 DoW, the US can move the fleet off the coast of Gibraltar and will be in a position to attack your transports or London on turn 3.  If you had waited a turn, the Germans would have time to consolidate the forces before being attacked by the Atlantic forces.

    Another comment on the balanced mod game, that Japanese sub off of Amur is not blocking the Russian bonus since you are not at war with Russia.

    Yeah i had planned on taking Gib assuming i dont get diced. Then UK can hit sz 92. Only things im still  considering is where to go with Pac fleet and if it is worth it to send two bombers to UK. Rom, i wont have my laptop till 5ish Central

    USA can only attack Gib w/2 troops and cru bombard.  The bomber and figs can’t reach Gib because they can’t land in Vichy Fre terr.  You only have a 60% chance of taking Gib.  That’s not high odds of success, so it wouldn’t take bad dice for you to fail.  I’d settle for a draw.  Then only the Bri bomber could hit the Ita fleet and the Ita air and surviving cru could attack the US fleet at similar strength.  It’s so frustrating for a major event to swing on a small outcome.  If you win Gib, the Ger trans will likely be lost.


  • You forgot the Marine in your math, Rommel.  Marines are such a key part of the BM mod.  They help both the Axis and the Allies.
